Dumplings for Soup

3/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup Cream of Wheat Cereal, (regular, quick or instant -- Uncooked )
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
3 cups hot soup*

Bring milk and salt to a boil in a small saucepan; slowly sprinkle in Cream of Wheat cereal, stirring constantly. Return to a boil, then lower heat and cook until very thick, a few minutes. Remove from heat and beat in butter or margarine and egg until well mixed. Stir in parsley. Drop the mixture by heaping teaspoonfuls into hot soup in medium saucepan. Simmer, covered, 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 12 (about 1 1/2 inch) dumplings.

*Note: 3 cups water and 4 bouillon cubes may be used or any soup of your choice.
