1 pkg. fudge brownie mix
3/4 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg plus 3 egg whites
1 tsp. almond extract
1/4 cup sliced almonds,optional
3 (1 oz each) squares white baking chocolate, melted, optional

Combine the dry brownie mix, ground almonds, flour and baking powder.

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, egg whites and extract. Add the egg mix to the flour mixture and stir until combined. Divide the dough into thirds.

Using a greased baking sheet, portion the dough into a 7" x 3-1/2" rectangle. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 24 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes.

Transfer to a cutting board cut diagonally with a serrated knife into 3/4 inch slices. Place cut side down on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 12-14 minutes or until firm. Cool on a wire rack.

If desired, sprinkle with the almond slices and then drizzle with the white chocolate. Let sit until the chocolate is completely dry. Store in an airtight container.
