Hearty Beef and Barley Stew
1 lb. stewing beef cut into large chunks
1 cup dried lima beans
1 cup pearl barley
1 large onion, diced into large pieces
2 carrots cut in large dice
2-3 stalks celery cut in large dice
2 tbsp. beef flavoured soup base
ground black pepper
water to cover
Place all ingredients in crock pot and cook on high 3 hours. Then on low all day or over night until beans and barley are tender.
Adjust seasoning to taste.
