Asian Chestnut Meatballs w Sweet n Sour Sauce

CHESTNUT MEATBALLS WITH SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE

Meatballs:
2 c soft bread crumbs
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp onion salt
1/2 lb pork sausage
1/2 c milk
1 1/2 tsp garlic salt1/2 lb ground beef
1 5-oz can water chestnuts, chopped fine

Preheat oven to 350.

Combine ingredients and mix well. Form into 1 inch balls.

Bake on cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes.

Put in chafing dish with sweet and sour sauce to serve.

Makes about 7 dozen.

Sweet and Sour Sauce:
1/3 c brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 c crushed pineapple
1/4 c water
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/3 c vinegar
1/4 c ketchup
1 tbsp soy sauce

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
