1/2 c butter, softened
8oz cream cheese, softened
1 c flour
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 c jalapeno jelly
Cream butter and cheese until well blended. Mix in flour and cayenne. Refrigerate dough, covered, until firm enough to form balls-1 to 2 hours.
Shape in 48 small balls and place one-inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. With your thumb press a deep indention in center of each ball.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place a small amount of jelly in center of each ball. Bake 12 minutes, until lightly browned on the edges. Serve warm or at room temperature.
