Green Chili Dip
Courtesy of "The Best of Bridge" ..."Winners"
(a very Canadian cookbook)
1 (8 oz./ 250 g.) package of cream cheese
dash of garlic salt (or powder)
1/2 Cup sour cream (or more)
1 large avocado, mashed (or more)
1/4 tsp. lemon juice
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies
5 slices bacon, cooked crisp and diced
3-4 green onions, chopped
1/4 Cup ripe olives, sliced
1/4 Cup stuffed green olives, sliced
1 (8 ounce) bottle hot or mild taco sauce
1 Cup grated old cheddar (or more)
Combine first 3 ingredients and use as the first layer in a 9" pie plate. Combine the next four ingredients. for the second layer.
Sprinkle on bacon, green onion and olives. Spread taco sauce over all and sprinkle with grated cheddar.
Serve cold with chips. Serves 10 - 12.
