Bamboo

1 Lb. Bamboo
1/2 Lb ground Pork
Salt and Pepper
1 Large onion
1 Large clove of garlic, mashed
flour
1 or 2 eggs
water
Oil for frying

For the sauce:
2 Cups sugar
2 Cups water
Juice of at least 1 large lemon
Chili to taste
salt
1 cup of ground peanuts

Slice bamboo into 4 inch pieces. Mix the flower, eggs and water into a batter. Mince the onion very finely along with the garlic and mix into the ground pork. Cut slits into the bamboo and stuff with the pork mixture. Coat bamboo with the batter and fry until golden brown.

For the sauce, boil the sugar and other ingredients except the peanuts (unless you want them soggy) until they become a syrup. Stir in the peanuts. Pour the syrup over the bamboo and serve. This is normally served as an appetizer.
