Carmel Rolls
Select dough setting.
Add:
1 1/2 teaspoons dry active yeast
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup warm milk
1/2 cup warm water
2 tablespoons lard or butter, heaping
1 egg
Use directions for your bread machine.
Press start
WHILE WAITING:
Mix together:
1/3-1/2 cup pecans
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 375.
When the dough is ready, remove to a lightly floured surface, roll or pat
into a 12 x 9 inch rectangle.
Brush whith 1/3 cup melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture over
the butter.
Roll the dough jelly roll style. Pinch the edges to seal. Cut 12 pieces
and place in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Cover
and let rise for 45 minutes.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until a light golden brown.
When done, tip out on a cookie sheet immediately!
CAUTION: the carmel mixture in bottom of pan and on top of buns stays hot
for a few minutes and may cause serious
injury to mouth and tongue! :)
TO MAKE STICKY CARMEL ROLLS:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons corn syrup
Mix this up, just before the dough is ready. Place in the bottom of the
pan and put the cinnamon rolls on top.
