Bread Machine Recipe Book

Use no metal dishes or utencils.

STARTER
1 Cup Milk
3 T. Plain NON-FAT Yogurt
1 Cup Bread Machine Flour

STARTER INSTRUCTIONS:

In microwave heat milk to 100 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in Yogurt with a wooden spoon.

Pour mixture into a warm 6 cup glass dish. Cover and let stand in a warm place 18-24 hours or until mixture is yogurt like again.

When clear mixture forms on top of the mixture, stir to blend in. If it turns pink, disgard.

After mixture thickens stir in 1 cup of Bread Flour. Cover tightly and let stand in warm place until mixture begins to bubble and smells sour, this should take place in 2-5 days.

Will make 1 1/2 cups Starter. Either use immediately or cover and refrigerate.

Give back to starter every time you take away. Only replenish with the warm milk and flour. No need to use yogurt again.

When using to make bread, bring to room temp before adding to bread machine.

SOURDOUGH BREAD:

(mild tasting-if stronger sourdough bread is desired decrease water by 1T. and increase Starter by 4 tablespooons).

5 ounces of of Water
1 cup of Starter
2 3/4 cups Bread Flour
1 T. Sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. Bread Machine Yeast

Add ingredients in order as listed above. Lock in bread pan. Program for Basic Bread.
