Arkansas Biscuits
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. warm water
1 t. salt
1/4 t. baking soda
1/4 c. sugar
4 t. baking powder
3/4 c. oil
2 c. buttermilk
6 c. flour
Preheat oven to 200.
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt, baking soda, sugar, baking powder,
oil and buttermilk. Mix well. Beat in
flour. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Dough will be sticky.
To bake, pinch off size of egg (I know that's not a definite amount,
I usually use large muffin pans and fill half).
Place in oiled muffin tins. Bake at 200'for 15 minutes, then 400'
for about 15 minutes, or until brown. Keeps in refrigerator for 2 weeks.
Do not make and keep in a metal container and leave room for this to at
least double.
