Southern Biscuits

3 c. White Lily self-rising flour
1/2 c. butter, margarine, or shortening
7/8 to 1-1/4 c. milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix flour into butter in a food processor until well blended or cut in with a pastry blender.

Add enough milk to make a soft dough, and knead five or six times.

Do not over-knead.

Pat dough out onto floured board 1" thick.

Cut biscuits into desired shapes, re-rolling and re-using scraps till dough is used up.

Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake until golden brown.

Baking time varies depending on size of biscuits, 2-3" ones will take about 15 minutes.
