Bisquick Mix
10 cups sifted flour
3 1/2 cups powdered milk
5 tablespoons baking powder
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
Combine well and store in an air tight container. This makes about 5
batches.
Pancakes:
Combine 2 1/4 c. baking mix with mixture of 1 egg, 1 1/2 c.
water and 2 T. oil. Stir until moistened.
Dumplings:
Combine 2 c. baking mix with 1 c. water. Stir until mixed.
Drop by spoonfuls into simmering soup or gravy. Cover and cook for 20
min. add spices or shredded cheese if desired.
Biscuts:
Combine 2 1/4 c. baking mix with 1/4c. shortning and 2/3 c. water. mix
lightly until dough forms a ball. turn onto floured surface.
Knead and roll dough to about 1/2 inch thick. cut with a biscut cutter
or a small glass. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450 degrees for 10-12
min.
Muffins:
Combine 2 1/4 c. baking mix with 1/4 c. sugar. Combine 1 egg,
3/4 c. water, and 1/3 c. oil. Add to dry ingredients. Add nuts, rasins,
cinnamon, chopped fruit,or even shredded carrots or squash for variety.
Mix only enough to moisten flour; batter will be lumpy. Grease muffin
tins and fill 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 min.
