Scones (Cream)

CREAM SCONES
2 cups fall-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup currants
1-1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 Tablespoons melted butter
Mixed cinnamon and sugar

Preheat oven to 400.

Blend dry ingredients together. Add currants. Stir in cream to make a fairly stiff dough.

Turn out on lightly floured board and knead for 1 minute. Roll into circle and cut into wedges.

Brush with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Place on ungreased baking sheet lined with foil. Bake 25 minutes until golden brown.
