posted by Verla 07-03-98 8:17 AM Scones 2 c. flour 1/3 cup sugar 1 T. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3 T. cold butter 1 6 0z. carton of orange yogurt 2 tsp. grated orange peel 1/4 c orange juice Preheat oven to 375. In a bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt. Add butter and rub with fingers until mixtures resembles fine crumbs. In a bowl, mix yogurt, orange peel, and juice; add to flour mixture and stir until evenly moistened. Mound dough on a lightly oiled baking sheet. With floured hands, pat into a 9' round. With floured knife, cut through dough to make 8 wedges; leave in place in pan. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until scones are golden brown, about 25 minutes. Serve warm, or slide onto rack and let cool until warm. Break or cut wedges apart.
