Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
3/4 cup sourdough starter
2 cups self rising flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
4 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Bring sourdough starter to room temperature.
In mixing bowl combine self rising flour, buttermilk and sourdough starter. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface, knead 15 times.
Roll into a 12 inch square. Brush with 3 tablespoons of the melted butter. Combine the sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over dough. Roll up, jelly roll style, starting from the longest side, seal seams. Slice into twelve pieces, place cut side down in a greased 9x9x2 inch baking pan. Brush with remaining tablespoon of butter.
Bake in a 450o oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Immediately turn out onto wire rack to cool.
