Fruit Cocktail Bread

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup fruit cocktail, drained
Powdered Sugar Glaze (powdered sugar, a little milk, and a dash of vanilla
extract)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease and flour two 5 x 9 inch loaf pans.
Combine cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl and beat until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat until well blended.
Fold in a mixture of flour and baking powder.
Stir in fruit cocktail.
Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 1 hour.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Garnish with a drizzle of powdered sugar glaze, if desired.
Yield: 2 loaves"
