Do Ahead French Toast

1/2 c. butter
1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1 loaf unsliced French bread
6 large eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla extract

In a small saucepan melt butter. Add brown sugar and cook until syrupy.

Pour into a 9x13 casserole and spread out evenly.

Remove ends from loaf and slice bread into 12 slices about 1" thick.

Place in casserole on top of butter and sugar mixture .

In medium bowl, beat eggs, vanilla and milk. Pour over bread.

Cover dish and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350. Uncover dish and bake 45 min.

Sift confectioners sugar over top when ready to serve.
