NEW ORLEANS FRENCH TOAST
6 thick slices sour dough bread
6 lg. eggs
1/4 c. milk
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. bourbon
Very hot heavy pan or grill
Butter (as needed)
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix eggs until well beaten. Add milk; mix well.
Add remaining ingredients. Dip bread slices.
Stick with fork so that it is well soaked with liquid.
Butter heavy skillet or grill. Brown both sides.
Serve immediately with hot syrup.
