Overnight French Toast

French Toast:
1 cup brown sugar or 1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup butter
2 large tart apples-peeled & sliced 1/4" thick
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
9 slices day old French Bread cut 3/4" thick

Syrup for Topping:
1 cup applesauce
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves

In saucepan or microwave cook sugar and butter until thick, about 5-7 minutes.

Pour into ungreased 13x9 baking pan. Arrange apples on top.

In a mixing bowl beat eggs, milk, and vanilla.

Dip bread into egg mixture for 1 minute.

Place over apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking.

Bake uncovered at 350 for 35-40 min.

While baking mix topping ingredients altogether in microwave or saucepan. Cook till hot. Serve over Apple French Toast.
