Seafood Shrimp Creole by Southern

SHRIMP CREOLE

1/4 cup olive oil
2 medium onions, sliced
1 green pepper, cut into strips
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 pound tomatoes
3 oz. tomato sauce
1 pound raw shrimp
Cooked rice

Heat oil in large skillet. Add onion and pepper, then cook until tender. Blend in flour. Add other ingredients
(except shrimp), cover, and cook over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cook shrimp for 3 to 5 minutes in boiling salted water, then drain, shell, and devein. Add shrimp to sauce. Mix well. Serve over cooked rice.
