Chocolate Banana Cake

1/2 cup margarine
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 cups Ceresota flour *(see note at end of recipe)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cup mashed, ripe bananas
1/2 tsp. vanilla


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream margarine and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at time and beat thoroughly after each one. Stir in the cooled, melted chocolate.

Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with the mashed bananas. Stir in vanilla.

Pour into 2 greased 9-inch layer cake pans. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.

Frost with Seven Minute Frosting.
