back of a C&H 5# bag of sugar:
Cocoa Apple Cake
3 eggs
2 cubes margarine (2 sticks or 1 cup)
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cups flour
2 Tbl. baking cocoa
1tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 cups grated apples
1 Tbl. vanilla
Heat oven to 325degrees F. and grease and flour a tube pan.
Cream together the 3 eggs, sugar margarine, and water. Sift the dry ingredients and combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and spices. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. When combined, fold in the walnuts, chocolate chips and apples and vanilla. Mix thoroughly, spoon into the prepared tube pan and bake for 60 minutes. This also can be baked in 9x5 loaf pans.
