French Unbaked Cake

1/2 c. butter
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. walnuts
16 double grahams, crushed (not too fine)


Melt butter in pan. Mix together sugar, cocoa and egg. Add to melted butter. Stir well and bring to bubbling point. Remove from heat.

Add vanilla, nuts and wafer crumbs. Mix well.

Place in greased pan and press down with spoon.

Ice immediately with chocolate icing. Chill.

Use 8 x 8-inch or 9 x 9-inch pan.

Note: Graham crackers come with lines marked out on them. Each one can be split into 4 pieces. A double one is the full piece. There are approx. 12 crackers in each individually wrapped section and 3 sections in a box.
