Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp. shortening, melted
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 3/4 cups hot water

Preheat oven to 350.

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cocoa. Stir in milk, melted shortening and add nuts.

Pour batter into a 9 inch square pan.

In small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cocoa and sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over batter and bake for 45 minutes.

Serve: Cut squares of cake and spoon sauce from pan over each piece. Serve warm with whipped or ice cream.

Serves 9.
