Hot Fudge Sunday Cake (with variations)

1 cup All-Purpose Flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 T. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
2 T. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cup hottest tap water
Ice Cream for serving

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Bake in a 9x9x2" ungreased pan.

Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Mix in milk, oil, and vanilla with a fork until smooth.

Stir in nuts. Spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa over top. Pour hot water over batter. Let stand for 15 minutes.

Bake for 40 minutes.

Spoon into dessert dishes or cut into squares. Top with ice cream and spoon sauce from the baking pan over each serving.

Five Variations:

Add:
1 cup marshmallows
1/2 cup coconut and 1/2 cup almonds
1 cup butterscotch pieces
(If you do this decrease brown sugar to 1/2 cup and the 1/4 cup of cocoa to 2 Tablespoons)
add 1 cup raisins
1/2 cup peanut butter and 1/2 cup chopped peanuts.
