ICE CREAM CAKE

1/2 c shortening
1 1/2 powdered sugar
1/2 c milk
1/2 c cornstarch
1 1/2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
6 egg whites

Sift flour once, measure. Add baking powder and cornstarch. Sift together three times. Cream shortening and sugar
gradually. Add flour and milk alternately. Add vanilla and fold in egg whites. Bake 20 minutes. Makes 2 round layers.

This recipe is from an Amish cookbook. It does not give an oven temperature. I hope it helps.
