Preacher's Chocolate Cake
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs beaten
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sour milk
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together the sugars and shortening thouroughly. Add the beaten eggs. Sift together the dry ingredients. Add
alternately with the sour milk. (add 1 Tbl. vinegar to sweet milk to sour-I know you usually don't use this much vinegar with 1/2 c. milk but trust me it works) Beat well after each addition. Fold in the boiling water and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured 13x9x2 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until done. Cool and frost.

I frosted it with this:
1 1/2 c. milk
1 envelope Dream Whip Whipped Topping Mix
1 package (4 serving size) Jello Instant Pudding.

1) Pour milk into deep narrow bottomed bowl. add whipped topping and pudding mixes.

2) Beat with electric mixer on low speed until blended. Beat on high 4 minutes or until mixture forms soft peaks. Makes about 3 cups. Frosts 2 (8 or 9 inch) layers or 1 13x9x2 cake.

Store cake in refrigerator.
