Spice Cake
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
3/3 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350degrees. Cream butter and sugar in mixing boel. Beat in egg. Add vanilla. Mix.
Add milk to butter mixture in 2 parts alternately with flour mixture in 3 parts, beginning and ending with flour. Turn
into 8"x8" pan.
Bake in ovenfor about 35-40minutes until inserted wooden toothpick comes out clean. Ice with butter icing,simple
chocolate icing or caramel icing.
