Texas Sheet Cake

2 sticks (1 cup) butter or margarine
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream
Icing (recipe below)

Icing:
1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine or butter
6 tablespoons milk
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts


Preheat oven to 350. Grease 10 by 13" cookie sheet. Set aside.

In large pan on stove heat first 3 ingredients until melted. Add remaining cake ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Pour into prepared sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes. While baking make icing.

Prepare icing: bring first 3 ingredients to boil in large saucepan. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until smooth. Mix in nuts. Ice cake while warm and let cool completely before cutting and serving.
