Apfel Kuchen
Mix together:
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
3 T. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Dash of salt
1/4 c. sugar
Spread on bottom of small cake pan(8X10inches). Peel and halve apples an place in rows on top of crust.
Mix together:
1 c. sugar
1/4 .c flour
1 egg
2 T. butter or margarine
Spread over apples. This does not cover every inch, just try to spread over evenly.
This bakes into a crusty topping.
Bake at 350' for 30-45 minutes, until apples are soft and top is crusty. Can top with whip topping if you want.
