Irish Chocolate Coffee Cake

180g semi-sweet bitter chocolate
1 Tablespoon strong coffee
splash Irish whisky
120g butter
120g caster sugar
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites -- whipped
60g caster sugar
60g S.R. flour -- sifted
Topping:
120g chocolate
120g butter
splash Irish whisky
Melt bitter chocolate. Combine with the strong coffee and whisky. Cool and put to one side.
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and mix well. Combine the chocolate and egg yolk mixtures
Combine the sifted flour and sugar. Fold in the flour/sugar and whipped egg whites alternately. Pour into a 23cm greased cake tin. Bake at 180ºC for 25 - 30 minutes.
Topping: Melt chocolate and butter. Add whisky. Spread over top and sides of cooled cake.
