Pineapple Coffee Cake

1/2 cup margarine -- softened
1 cup brown sugar -- firmly packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup crushed pineapple -- drained
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar -- firmly packed
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350° F. and grease a 9 x 13-inch pan well.
Prepare the batter by creaming together the margarine and 1 cup brown sugar. Add the eggs and beat well.
Combine the soda with the sour cream. Mix together the flour, salt and baking powder, add alternately to the margarine mixture with the sour cream mixture. Add the vanilla; mix well.
Grease well a 9x13-inch pan. Pour in half the batter. Spread the pineapple over this as a filling, and then add the remaining batter.
Make a topping by combining the sugar, 1/3 cup of the brown sugar, walnuts, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle the topping over the batter. Bake at 350 F. for 25 to 30 minutes.
