Sour Cream Coffee Cake
2c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1 8oz. container sour cream
2 T. sugar
1 1/2 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
Grease and flour a 10-inch fluted tube pan; set aside.
In a mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat together butter and 1 1/4 c. sugar with a mixer until combined.
Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately to butter mixture, beating just until combined after each addition. Spread half of mixture into pan. Stir together 2 T. sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts.
Sprinkle over batter in the pan. Spread remaining batter over nut mixture. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until thpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
