Sour Cream Kuchen
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Topping and filling:
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
Preheat to 325°.
Cream butter and sugar together until batter is yellow. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift dry ingredients together. Add to batter alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Blend in vanilla.
Combine Filling ingredients in another bowl and mix.
Pour half the batter in a well greased 8 x 12 inch pan. Sprinkle half of the filling on top of the batter. Pour remaining batter over nut filling, then top with remaining nut mixture.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until a cake tester comes out dry.
8 to 10 servings
