Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake

3 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 egg, separated
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tubes crescent rolls
1 can cherry pie filling


Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla in bowl. Unroll 1 pkg crescent rolls on a round flat pan. Put triangles wide ends out in a circle with points facing in. Flatten with baking roller, pressing all seems together.(you should have a flat large circle, with a little hole in the center which makes it look like a wheel.)

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly around dough. Top with pie filling.

With the other pkg crescent rolls, separate triangles and cut into 1 inch pieces. Each triangle should make 3. (I use a pizza cutter) Arrange one about every 1-2 inch around dessert in a spoke like fashion. You will put the wide end on the outside and small point going into the center. Tuck and pinch so filling doesn’t spill. Brush each strip with egg whites. Bake at 350 for 25-30
