Cookies & Cream Cake
1 package (2 layer size) white cake mix
1 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup cooking oil
3 egg whites
1 cup coarsely crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with white filling
Creamy White Frosting - Recipe follows
2 ounces semi sweet chocolate
1 teaspoon shortening
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour two 9x1 1/2” round cake pans.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using water, oil and egg
whites.
Fold in crushed cookies.
Pour into cake pans and bake in oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till toothpick tests done.
Cool for 10 minutes in pan on wire rack.
Remove from pans and cool cake layers.
Prepare creamy white frosting; fill and frost layers.
In heavy saucepan, melt semi-sweet chocolate and shortening over very low
heat.
Drizzle melted chocolate over top of frosted cake.
Garnish with additional crushed sandwich cookies if you like.

Creamy White Frosting:
1 cup shortening
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk.
Beat shortening and vanilla together for 30 seconds.
Beat in powdered sugar and milk to make a spreadable frosting.
