Frosting Caramel Penache

CARAMEL PENUCHE

1-1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. margarine or butter
1/3 c. milk
14 oz. pkg. caramels
3/4 c. pecans

Combine sugar, milk and margarine in large glass bowl; mix well. Cook in microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes. Stir, then cook another 5 minutes. Add caramels. Cook 45 seconds. Beat vigorously until caramels are melted and smooth. Add nuts; mix well. Pour in well greased 8-inch square pan. Cool; cut into squares.
