Frosting: French Vanilla Icing

French Vanilla Icing

4 1/2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. water
2 1/3 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. Crisco
1/3 c. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla


Bring to a boil the granulated sugar and water. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and egg. Pour hot sugar syrup over this and beat. Then add 1/3 cup Crisco, 1/3 cup margarine and vanilla and mix well.
