Broiled Peanut Butter Frosting
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
1/4 c. peanut butter
3 Tbsp. milk
1 c. finely chopped peanuts
Mix brown sugar, margarine, peanut butter and milk; stir in peanuts. Spread frosting over warm 13 x 9-inch cake. Set oven control to broil and/or 550 degrees. Broil cake about 5-inches from heat until frosting bubbles and browns slightly, about 3 minutes. (Watch carefully, frosting burns easily.)
Frosts a 13 x 9-inch cake.
Peanut Butter Frosting
1/2 c. smooth or crunchy peanut butter
1 c. firmly-packed light brown sugar
1/3 c. milk
3 c. confectioners sugar
In medium saucepan melt peanut butter over very low heat. Blend in brown sugar and milk. Remove from heat; stir in confectioners sugar.
Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
Peanut Butter Frosting
1/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. canned milk or cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
Boil together sugars and milk for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla and peanut butter. Mix well and spread on cake.
Broiled Peanut Butter Frosting
6 Tbsp. soft butter
1 c. dark brown sugar
2/3 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/4 c. milk
2/3 c. chopped salted nuts
Preheat broiler.
Cream butter, sugar and peanut butter. Add milk and nuts. Spread over warm cake. Place frosted cake under broiler, about 4-inches from heat source. Broil a few seconds until topping starts to bubble. Cool 30 minutes before serving.
