No-Bake: Italian Love Cake

Italian Love Cake

1 large angel food cake
1/2 cup Amaretto liqueur
1 pt. pistachio nut ice cream
1 pt. strawberry ice cream
2 cups heavy cream
chocolate candy Kisses
sliced fresh strawberries.


Cut cake into 3 layers with sharp serrated knife. Place 1 layer on a serving plate and lightly brush with Amaretto. Cut pistachio nut ice cream into slices and arrange on top of bottom layer. Add second layer; brush with Amaretto and arrange slices of strawberry ice cream. Top with final layer and brush entire cake with Amaretto. Place in freezer.

Add any remaining cream to Amaretto: beat until very thick. Frost cake with whipped cream. Adorn top of cake, alternating candy Kisses with sliced strawberries. Keep in freezer until firm, then serve.

Note: Cherry ice cream and maraschino cherries can be substituted for the strawberry ice cream and strawberry slices.
