Lemon Pound Cake

1 pound butter, unsalted
3 cups sugar
6 egg
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons lemon extract
Lemon, grated rind of one
2 tablespoons baking powder
4 cups flour
Preheat oven to 350.
Butter and flour 10" tube pan.
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift together dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, mix together milk and lemon extract.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry.
Mix on low speed after each addition, mixing only to blend.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out dry.
Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes.
Turn onto cooling rack until completely cool.
