Pound Cake by KateH
2 3/4 C sugar 
1 1/4 C butter or margarine, softened 
5 eggs 
1 t. vanilla 
3 C all purpose flour 
1 t. baking powder 
1/4 t. salt 
1 C evaporated milk 
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a tube or bundt pan. Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla on low
spead, scraping bowl constantly, for 30 seconds. Beat on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally, for 5
minutes. Beat in flour, baking powder, and salt alternately with milk on low speed. 
Bake for 70 to 80 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes, remove from pan.
