Double-Dutch Chocolate Pudding Cake

Batter
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate and cocoa
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla

Pudding
1/4 cup ghirardelli sweet
ground chocolate and cocoa
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups boiling water



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

Combine the flour, 1/4 cup ground chocolate, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, combine the milk, butter, and vanilla.

Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well.

Pour batter into the prepared pan.

To make the pudding, combine the remaining 1/4 cup each of ground chocolate and granulated sugar, and the boiling water, mixing well.

Pour the chocolate mixture over the batter in the pan (DO NOT STIR).

Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until the top appears dry.

Let stand 30 minutes before serving.
