CHRISTMAS FRUIT CANDY

Cook the following together until they form a soft ball:

2 cups brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup evaporated milk as it comes from the can

Add the following and cook 5 minutes:

1 cup chopped dates
1 cup coconut

Add:

1 cup chopped pecans and 2 t vanilla and beat until creamy. Let set 1 week before using; flavor improves but can be used right away. Will keep moist several weeks if covered tightly. Also freezes well.
