ALMOND BRICKLE
1 cup butter
1-1/2 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 cups almonds, slivered
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare pan (13 by 9 inches), greasing well. Cook butter and brown sugar over medium heat in a skillet, stirring constantly until sugar has completely melted (about 2 or 3 minutes).
Add almonds. Continue stirring until almonds just begin to brown at the edges (another 2 to 3 minutes).
Pour out of skillet into pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over
hot mixture. As they melt, spread chocolate evenly over the top of the brickle.
Chill until chocolate is firm (about 20 minutes). Break into pieces.
