MOUNDS BALLS

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 lb. sweet butter (unsalted)
1 lb. icing sugar
1 lb. flaked coconut
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
CHOCOLATE COATING
1 pkg. choc. chips
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 piece parfin wax 1x2x1/2 inches (optional-yuk)
round wooden toothpicks
styrofoam sheets

In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add coconut, milk, walnuts and vanilla; stir until blended. Chill until slightly firm; roll into balls. Insert a toothpick in each ball. Place balls on cookie sheets; freeze. In double boiler melt chocolates (and wax) over boiling water. Dip frozen balls into chocolate; stick picks back into styrofoam sheets. Chill until firm. Remove from picks and put into paper candy cups. May be frozen.
