SESAME SEED CANDY
1/2 LB. Sesame Seeds(225gr)
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 T. honey
Combine all the ingredients and mix well.
Over low heat, heat the mixture in a heavy skillet, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the mixture begins to brown.
Remove from heat and spread the mixture onto wax paper or a marble slab to a thickness of about 1/2".
When the mixture is partially cooled and firm (not hard), cut into triangles, squares, or finger shaped candies. They shouldn't be large.
Allow to harden. May be served fresh or stored in a dry container.
ITALIAN SESAME SEED CANDY
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 lbs. honey
1 1/2 lbs. sesame seeds
Juice of one orange
Grated rind of one orange
1 1b. almonds chopped/toasted
Bring sugar and honey to a rolling boil. Add the Sesame Seeds, Orange juice,Rind, and Almonds. Cook and stir constantly on low heat until bubbly. Remove from heat and pour mixture on a board or sheet pan. Press to flatten. Cool 10 minutes. Cut into pieces and let cool completely on wax paper.
