Snow White Taffy
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
2Tbsp butter
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1 pinch salt
In a large saucepan over med. heat combine sugar, vinegar, butter, cream of tartar, and salt. Heat, without stirring, to 250 - 265 degrees F or till a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a rigid ball. Remove from heat and cool till able to handle.
Pull taffy by stretching with hands, folding the candy over and repeating till taffy is white and porous. Cut into 1 inch pieces with kitchen shears.
