Rice and Sausage Casserole 
1/2 pound bulk sausage 
1 pound ground beef 
1 envelope dry chicken noodle soup mix (or 2 chicken bouillion cubes, crumbled) 
2 cups boiling water 
1 cup chopped celery 
1/2 cup chopped onion 
1/4 cup chopped green pepper, optional 
Salt and pepper to taste 
1/2 cup uncooked regular rice 
1/2 cup slivered or sliced almonds 
Preheat oven to 350. Brown meats in skillet and drain fats. Put drained meat into a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with remaining ingredients. Pour the 2 cups water over all and sprinkle with almonds. Bake covered with lid (or foil) for 1 hour. 
Approx. 8 servings
