Vegetable: Cheesy Cabbage Casserole

Cheesey Cabbage Casserole

1 medium cabbage
1 (10-3/4 ounce) can of cream of chicken soup or cream of celery soup
1 (5 ounce) jar of Cheez Whiz
Pepper
1/4 cup of soft bread crumbs
2 tablespoons of butter


Break the leaves from the cabbage head; cover with cold water for 10 minutes. Drain well. Cut into 1/2 inch strips, removing the ribs. Place in boiling salted water to cover. Cook for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let stand for 2-3 minutes. Drain well.

Place 1/2 of the cabbage in a greased 1-1/2 quart casserole dish. Spread with 1/2 of the soup and 1/2 of the cheese. Sprinkle lightly with pepper. Repeat the layers. Top with bread crumbs and dot with butter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
